Dialing Instructions
LINC users place long distance calls by dialing an access code (8 or 1) then the area code and seven digit telephone number. Do not use the LINC network for local calls or toll free number calls.
International Calls
To make business related international calls
- From an unrestricted BellSouth Centrex line
- Dial 9 for an outside line then dial 0 + 11, the country code, city code, and the local number.
- From a PBX
- Obtain an outside line then dial 0 + 11, the country code, city code, and the local number.
- From an unrestricted business line or trunk
- Dial 0 + 11, the country code, city code, and the local number.
State BellSouth Centrex Service Users
To make personal collect or credit card calls within the Continental U.S.
- Dial a designated access code.
- In Baton Rouge, if you are dialing from a telephone number with a 216, 219, 342, 922, or 925 prefix, dial #0.
- In New Orleans, if you are dialing from a telephone number with a 556, 568, 599, or 680 prefix, dial #0.
- From all other telephone numbers dial 2.
- Then dial 0 and the Area Code + seven digit telephone number of the party you are calling.
- Follow the given instructions. Or
- After the bong tone, immediately dial your complete credit card number.
- Remember, calls may not be charged to a State number.
To place a toll free (800/888/877/866/855) number call
- Dial 9 + 1 + toll free number
- Do not use LINC for toll free number calls.
