$30 Million Municipalities Infrastructure Program:
The Office of Community Development - Disaster Recovery Unit developed the Municipalities Infrastructure program to make grant funds available on a competitive basis to municipalities within the 53 parishes impacted by hurricanes Gustav and Ike. This program is designed to complement existing recovery activities and provide for municipalities' needs not addressed directly by other programs.

$50 million Competitive Affordable Rental Program:
As required by the 2008 federal disaster supplemental bill, at least 11.2% of the state's overall allocation of funding for recovery from hurricanes Gustav and Ike has been dedicated to affordable rental housing programs. The Affordable Rental Program will consist of two approaches: competitive rental programs and direct allocation to the five entitlement parishes most affected by the 2008 storms. Both programs will provide assistance for the development, rehabilitation and rebuilding of affordable rental housing.
