Services
The Office of Computing Services (OCS) provides information technology support to the Division of Administration and centralized IT services to other departments under the authority of the CIO. Within the DOA, OCS provides hardware and software support for servers and desktop computers. Statewide IT services provided include computing facilities management, statewide e-mail, consolidated monitoring, and mainframe support services.
OCS Responsibilities include:
| CMS | This service provides centralized monitoring of statewide networks, critical infrastructure and selected servers and applications. |
| Provides and supports email, collaborative calendaring, and wireless services for the State of Louisiana. | |
| FACILITIES MANAGEMENT | Manages physical facilities (floor space, electrical, environmental, physical security) within the Information Services Building (ISB). Provides secure, stable environment for the operation of department servers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
| HARDWARE | Maintains and supports servers, desktops, printers and scanners which include installations, moves, troubleshooting and service. |
| HELP DESK | Provides first-line problem management for Division of Administration (DOA) computer users and statewide mainframe remote printing users. Also promulgates and administers the IT security policy for the Division of Administration and statewide users of the DOA mainframe. |
| PCLAN SERVICES | Provides support for desktop computing, LAN management, and technical consulting. |
| SOFTWARE SUPPORT | Maintains the operating system and related system software for the DOA, DOE, DSS, and DHH mainframes. Maintains the database software for the mainframe, Unix, and Intel platforms which consists of DB2 and SQL Server. Provides Operating System support for Unix Systems. |
