AFS Help Desk Coverage on May 24 & Check Printing on May 28

OIS is moving to the Claiborne Building on May 24, 2002. Due to the closure of our office for the move, the AFS Help Desk will be remotely monitored on May 24th until 4:30 PM (see SIS Memorandum 02-049). If you have an AFS question that can not wait until Tuesday May 28th for an answer, please leave a message on the appropriate AFS Help Desk line. Someone will return your call as soon as possible. If your question can wait, please call back on Tuesday, May 28th. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Due to the State Holiday on 5/27/02, AFS vendor checks will not be printed on 5/28/02.

AFS Archive Process of OPVH/OPVL

On Friday, April 19, 2002, AFS will run the OPVH/OPVL online archive process. Production data closed through 6/30/01, BFY 01 will be moved from OPVH/OPVL to the OPVX/OPVY archive tables.

Change in ISIS Help Desk Support

Effective Monday, April 1, 2002, ISIS Help Desk support will be discontinued between the hours of 4:30 and 6:00 pm weekdays. Extended ISIS Help Desk support hours will be provided during critical business process periods, such as the fiscal year close events. During those periods, Help Desk support hours will be posted on the ISIS message screens and the SIS Web Site Bulletin Boards.

Changes in the AFS Training Courses

Training on the Advantage Financial System (AFS) is vital to a user's ability to perform his or her job duties, and our goal is to provide that training in the most efficient and appropriate way possible.

AFS training courses have been streamlined from the usual 7 days, down to 5 days. The Introduction and Chart of Accounts courses have been combined into one 8-hour course, and the Payment Processing course has been reduced to an 8-hour course. These changes were piloted during the last round of AFS training and the overall responses from the students was positive.

AFS System Electronic Notification

SIS has developed an AFS Electronic Notification service that will enhance distribution of ISIS AFS information within each agency. ISIS AFS users can easily subscribe to receive notification of ISIS AFS related information. The new AFS System Electronic Notification web page with instructions to subscribe or cancel subscriptions to these lists may be accessed at http://www.doa.louisiana.gov/ois/Financial/afselectronic_notification.htm.
