Program Authorization: R.S. 22:1580-1587
This program provides funding to local governmental entities to aid in fire protection. A 2% fee is assessed on fire insurance premiums; funding is remitted on a per capita basis to local entities.

This agency's recommended appropriation does not include any funds for short-term debt.
This agency does not have any long-term debt for Fiscal Year 1999-2000.
The source of funding for this program is Statutory Dedication - 2% Fire Insurance Fund. Money generated from a 2% surcharge on fire insurance premiums written in the state of Louisiana is deposited into this fund. (Per R.S. 39:32B.(8), see table below for a listing of expenditures out of each Statutory Dedicated fund.)
