The mission of the Transportation Program is to provide financial assistance for nondiscriminatory, state-approved nonpublic schools to transport nonpublic school children to and from school.
The goal of the Transportation Program is to equitably distribute the appropriated level of state support to the local school district for providing transportation services to eligible nonpublic school students.
OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. The Transportation Program will provide on an average $308 per student to transport nonpublic students and will audit 5 schools on site in FY 1998-99.

This program is funded by the general fund.

DIFFERENCE (TOTAL RECOMMENDED AND EXISTING OPERATING BUDGET) |
The total means of financing for this program is recommended at 100% of the existing operating budget. It represents 100% of the total request ($7,620,690) for this program.
The Total Recommended amount above includes $7,620,690 of Supplementary recommendations of which $7,620,690 is State General Fund for the entire Transportation Program. Funding of this supplementary Recommendation is dependent upon renewal of the current sales tax rate of 3% on the sales tax suspension of exemptions base.
