The mission of the Textbook Administration Program to provide financial assistance for nondiscriminatory, state-approved nonpublic schools for the administrative costs of each city and parish school board that distributes school library books, textbooks, and other materials of instruction to nonpublic students.
The goal of the Textbook Administration Program is to equitably distribute the appropriated level of state support to local school districts for administrative services provided.
OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. The Textbook Administration Program will provide 6.1% of the funds allocated for textbook administration by FY 1998-99.

The total means of financing for this program is recommended at 100% of the existing operating budget. It represents 100% of the total request ($199,979) for this program.
The total recommended amount above includes $199,979 of Supplementary Recommendations of which $199,979 is State General Fund for the entire Textbook Administration program. Funding of this Supplementary Recommendation is dependent upon renewal of the current sales tax rate of 3% on the sales tax suspension of exemptions base.
