Program Authorization: Goals 2000 Educate America Act
The mission of the LEARN Program is to administer a subgrant program which supports locally determined education improvement planning and implementation activities.
The goal of the LEARN Program is to have a statewide subgrant program that effectively supports local education improvement projects.
OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. The Louisiana Education Achievement and Results Now Program will have 66 active local improvement projects which will have a 100% effectiveness rating by independent evaluators in FY 1998-99.
1 The Department of Education requires performance indicators to be established by the participating Local Education Agencies which as monitored and evaluated by independent evaluators. The LEAs retain responsibility for implementation of projects at the local level.
RESOURCE ALLOCATION FOR THE PROGRAM
This program is with federal funds through Title III: GOALS 2000 Educate America Act.

The total means of financing for this program is recommended at 100% of the existing operating budget. It represents 100% of the total request ($9,793,186) for this program.
