The mission of the Instructional Program is to provide occupational, technical, and relevant academic training to its student clients. This program seeks the campus goal to provide students an affordable education that results in a well-trained, credentialed workforce that meets the manpower demands of the private and public sectors.
OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. The Instructional Program will provide job skills training, including technical and applied course work, as measured by increasing the percentage of students who acquire marketable skills by at least 8.5% during FY 98-99.
RESOURCE ALLOCATION FOR THE PROGRAM
This program is funded with general fund, interagency transfers, and statutory dedication (Vocational-Technical Enterprise Fund). The interagency transfers are Louisiana Quality Support Education [8(g)]. Statutory dedications from the Vocational-Technical Enterprise Fund includes tuition and Job Training Partnership Act Title II funds. (Per R.S. 39:32B.(8), see table below for a listing of expenditures out of each statutory dedicated fund.)
The total means of financing for this program is recommended at 106.7% of the existing operating budget. It represents 69.6% of the total request ($766,177) for this program. The changes in funding is primarily due to an increase to Salaries and Related Benefits for Termination pay and Insurance premiums.
