The Subgrantee Assistance appropriation is composed of funding that flows out from the Department of Education to local school systems and other direct service providers. The purpose of this program is to distribute the funds as per the requirements of the various activities. This budget includes sixteen programs: Louisiana Education Achievement and Results Now (LEARN); Title 1 (Helping Disadvantaged Children Meet High Standards); Title 2 (Dwight D. Eisenhower Professional Development); Title 3 (Technology in Education)l; Title 4 (Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities); Title 6 (Innovative Education Program Strategies); Title 7 (Bilingual Education); Title 10 (Charter Schools); School Food and Nutrition; Day Care Food and Nutrition; Special Education Parish Support; Vocational Education Assistance; Pell Grants; Adult Education, Professional Improvement Program, Supplemental Education Assistance. The recommended budgets associated with Adult Education, Vocational Education Assistance to Post-secondary institutions (estimated @ 61.5% of Carl D. Perkins; 100% of JTPA Title III; 40% of JTPA 8%; 100% of Proprietary Schools), Pell Grants for post-secondary students and Food and Nutrition Programs for Adult Day Care have not been included in the following because their services are not targeted to children.
