Program D: Family Violence

Program Authorization: R.S. 46:2121-2127, R.S. 46:2521

This program was established for the purposes of preventing family violence, rape, and sexual abuse, and for the treatment of victims. It does this by maintaining a statewide network of crisis intervention shelters and counseling services. The Office contracts for services in 16 locations throughout the state. Twelve programs operate shelters, four programs operate counseling, outreach and referral programs.
