These expenditures include the room and board, staff cost, and general costs of meeting the day-to-day needs of youth in OYD's training schools. Limited federal funds are available through the School Lunch Program, and for youth who are SSI eligible, whose payments are used to offset costs. Costs shown below include administrative and indirect costs. Generally, training schools serve youth between the ages of 12 and 20, with an average age of 16.
