The
Office of State Purchasing and Travel is located on the 2nd
floor, Suite 160 of the Claiborne Building, 1201 North 3rd
Street. Visitor parking is available in the surface lot, south
of the building. If you need additional assistance, call (225)
342-8010. Note: Picture I.D. is required
to enter the Claiborne Building.
Directions from Lafayette Take I-10 to Baton Rouge. When crossing the New Mississippi
River Bridge into Baton Rouge, get into the left lane and
veer left onto I-110. Take the third exit, Exit 1-D - the
North Street exit, which exits to the left of the Interstate.
North Street is a one-way street that runs toward the Mississippi
River. Travel west (toward the river) for 8 blocks to North
Third Street. Turn right onto North Third Street and travel
north approximately 4 blocks to the Claiborne Building, 1201
North Third Street (on the left hand side of the street).
The Claiborne Building is located one block north of the State
Capitol and Capitol Annex Buildings, directly across the street
and east of Casino Rouge, and west of Capitol Lake. Visitors'
parking is located on the south side of the Claiborne Building
and can be accessed by turning left at the yellow caution
light at the intersection of North Third Street and Capitol
Lake Drive. Continue into the open parking lot between the
Capitol Annex and the Claiborne Building. |
Directions
from New Orleans
Take I-10 to Baton Rouge. Shortly after entering
the city limits, the Interstate splits (to the right is I-12
to Hammond and to the Left is I-10 into the into the downtown
area). Staying on I-10, veer left toward downtown, staying
in the center lane. (Landmarks include the Marriott Hotel
on the right, City Park Lakes). Shortly after you cross City
Park Lakes, the Interstate splits again. (to the left is I-10
to Lafayette and straight ahead is I-110 to North Baton Rouge).
Continue straight ahead, staying on I-110. The third exit
after this split is Exit 1-D - the North Street exit, which
exits to the left of the Interstate. Take this exit. North
Street is a one-way street that runs toward the Mississippi
River. Travel west (toward the river) for 8 blocks to North
Third Street. Turn right onto North Third Street and travel
north approximately 4 blocks to the Claiborne Building, 1201
North Third Street (on the left hand side of the street).
The Claiborne Building is located one block north of the State
Capitol and Capitol Annex Buildings, directly across the street
and east of Casino Rouge, and west of Capitol Lake. Visitors'
parking is located on the south side of the building and can
be accessed by turning left at the yellow caution light at
the intersection of North Third Street and Capitol Lake Drive.
Continue into the open parking lot between the Capitol Annex
and the Claiborne Building.
Directions from North Baton Rouge
Take I-110 toward the downtown area. Take the Capitol Access
Road exit. Follow Capitol Access Road to North Third Street.
(The Capitol Access Road turns into Captiol Lake Drive, the
street that runs behind the Old Arsenal Museum and the State
Capitol, near the Governor's Mansion.) When you reach the
caution light at the intersection of Capitol Lake Drive and
North Third Street, cross the intersection and go directly
into the Visitors parking lot, which is located between the
Capitol Annex and the Claiborne Building. |
