EXECUTIVE ORDER MJF 98-67

Mississippi River Corridor Task Force


WHEREAS: Executive Order Number MJF 98-1, signed on January 7, 1998, created the Mississippi River Corridor Task Force (hereafter "Task Force") and ordered the Task Force to submit a final report to the governor by January 31, 1999;

WHEREAS: Executive Order Number MJF 98-3, signed on January 22, 1998, amended Section 4 of Executive Order Number MJF 98-1 relative to the composition of the membership of the Task Force; and

WHEREAS: it is necessary to amend Executive Order Number MJF 98-1, as amended by Executive Order Number MJF 98-3, to extend both the term of the Task Force and its deadline for submitting a final report to the governor;

NOW THEREFORE, I, M.J. "MIKE" FOSTER, JR., Governor of the state of Louisiana, by virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution and laws of the state of Louisiana, do hereby order and direct as follows:

SECTION 1: Section 3 of Executive Order Number MJF 98-1, as amended by Executive Order Number MJF 98-3, is amended to provide as follows: The Task Force shall submit no less than two (2) written reports to the governor which address the issues set forth in Section 2. The Task Force shall provide a preliminary report by June 1, 1998, and a final, comprehensive report containing recommendations by September 30, 1999.

SECTION 2: Section 10 of Executive Order Number MJF 98-1, as amended by Executive Order Number MJF 98-3, is modified so as to be consistent with Section 4 of this Order.

SECTION 3: All other sections and subsections of Executive Order Number MJF 98-1, as amended by Executive Order Number MJF 98-3, shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 4: The provisions of this Order are effective upon signature and shall continue until its expiration on September 30, 1999, unless amended, modified, terminated, or rescinded by the governor, or terminated by operation of law.
