Video Services FAQs
How do I use the Video Network Services contract if I currently have ISDN lines and video conferencing equipment?
For those users who currently have dial facilities, it will be necessary to establish an account with OTM for the Video Network Services contract. An order must be sent to OTM on the State of Louisiana Video Network Services Order Form to establish an account. There is a one-time account set-up fee of $30 per account.
How do I use the Video Network Services contract for dial access if I do not currently have appropriate dial facilities?
Orders to establish dedicated (T-1) access or to establish an dial-up usage account with OTM for the Video Network Services contract must be submitted on form OTM-17 to the attention of Susie Pace, telephone: 225-342-8827, fax: 225-342-7772; e-mail susie.pace@la.gov. For dial-up access, it will be necessary to submit a separate order through normal channels for ISDN dial facilities. All orders must be signed by the agency telecommunications coordinator prior to submission to OTM.
How can guest or non-state users participate in state-sponsored video conferences?
Non-state/guest users may participate in state-hosted video conferences via an ISDN dial connection. The state host must establish an account for the non-state/guest user and be responsible for payment of account set-up fees and usage charges associated with the account. The state host must establish these account(s) with the Office of Telecommunications Management based on the usage and speed required by the non-state/guest. To establish a guest account for non-state/guest users, use the State of Louisiana Video Network Services Order Form. Complete the form and check "Guest" on the section of the form that pertains to guest accounts. It is necessary to include circuit numbers or ISDN line to establish a guest. Also complete Section II of the form to indicate all options ordered for the guest user. Fax the form to Susie Pace at 225-342-7772.
How do I schedule conferences once my video account has been established?
To schedule video conferences online, you must have security access to the BellSouth Interactive Web Scheduler. To obtain access and training, contact Susie Pace at 225-342-8827. Once access has been granted, conferences can be scheduled online at video4u2.bellsouth.com.
How do I manually schedule a conference if the Web Scheduler is not available at any time?
You may fax the BellSouth Video Conferencing Service Request Form to the scheduling center at 800-362-9137, or you may call the center at 800-777-8805 (option 1). If you call the scheduling center to schedule a conference, you must provide a copy of the BellSouth Video Conferencing Service Request Form to confirm the request.
If I have audio or video problems during a conference, what should I do?
Before reporting a trouble to the BellSouth Video Conferencing Service Trouble Resolution Center, the user or site coordinator should attempt to resolve the conference trouble by referring to the trouble resolution check list, Attachment A in the Video Network Services User Guide; or contact the BellSouth Scheduling Center at 800-777-8805 and press 2 for assistance.
