PUBLIC FACILITIES
An activity may be assisted in whole or in part with CDBG funds if the activity is defined as eligible under Section 105(a) of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, {current law 42 USC 5305}.
Each state administering the CDBG program is allowed the flexibility of determining its priorities from that range of eligible activities under Section 105(a) of the Act. Within HUD regulations, the State of Louisiana has established priorities for program categories and activities. The first round of awards has been announced for the FY 2024 program year. Additional awards may be made later in the program year in accordance with the FY 2024 Method of Distribution.
OCD-LGA reviewed and scored FY 2025 applications and awards have been made. Additional FY 2025 awards could be made if funding is available later in the program year. Any additional awards will be announced by March 31, 2026. Note: funds cannot be awarded to applicants who are on the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Non-Compliance List. See the FY 2025 Method of Distribution for more information about scoring and eligibility.
OCD-LGA is now accepting applications in anticipation of its FY 2026 funds from HUD. The FY 2026 - 2027 Program Cycle Information Memo gives an overview of the important dates and scoring. The Public Facilities Project Severity Package have been accepted and invitations to submit a full application for FY 2026 have been issued. A list of those invited have posted here and a virtual Application Workshop will be held August 27, 2025.
