Telecommunications Information Notice 23-04 Starlink Business Internet Connectivity
July 24, 2023
The Office of Technology Services has established a line of service to provide Starlink Business Internet connectivity. This service provides high-speed priority Internet service statewide via SpaceX low-orbit satellites and is a good option for locations with no available telecommunications fiber services. Data transmission limits vary by subscription level. Fixed service requires installation of a satellite dish at a specific location, while Mobile service allows for a dish to be moved between locations or even installed on a vehicle and used in transit.
Physical requirements must be met at each site in order to successfully install and operate the necessary local equipment. As this is a direct Internet service, each location must also have appropriate network security equipment installed. This service will be deployed along with secure Managed LAN services at user locations that are fully supported by OTS.
Service tiers and rates are listed in the OTS Catalog of Services. This service will be billed through OTS. If an agency does not have an OTS account one will be created.
Questions about this information notice should be directed to the OTS Network team.
