Telecommunications Information Notice 26-03 Centrex Service Rate Changes and Service Update

The Office of Technology Services would like to inform all customers of forthcoming changes for Centrex services. AT&T is actively working to upgrade its network and retire its legacy copper network nationwide. As part of the modernization effort, AT&T has announced plans to sunset Centrex and is no longer accepting requests to add, move, or reactivate Centrex services.
To support the transition, AT&T has also increased rates for Centrex services and plans to increase them again in September. These increased vendor charges resulted in the following new OTS service rates, which take effect April 1, 2026, and should be reflected on the May 2026 bill.

Note: Please be aware that the September 2026 Centrex increases will be significantly higher as AT&T intends to triple their new April rates. OTS will do everything possible to minimize impact to customers, but we do expect some of the new rates listed above to increase again more than 150%.
OTS is working with AT&T and other vendors to identify replacement options for each active Centrex service. We will be contacting agency telecommunications coordinators as the project progresses to help facilitate site visits and to obtain authorization before proceeding with any service changes. To minimize overall financial impact to the State, sites with larger service quantities will be prioritized.
